A good night’s sleep....FINALLY! Goodbye jet-lag. I’m up at 7am and working, Pamela still sacked out. Yesterday was almost our first day without rain. It was partly sunny/cloudy most of the day till the end of dinner at a cafe, sitting outside, when the rains came again. Streets of Paris are wet again this AM.

As for the US travel warning that was issued for France I have seen only one sign of an increased security presence. That was at a nearby Metro station entrance that was patrolled by three lightly armed security officers. Other metro stations we went through yesterday had no visible signs of security. But I should note we haven’t visited any of the big “attractions” here in Paris. Only precaution we may take is to avoid rush-hour when taking the subway.

In fact we visited what must be considered a terrorist target Sunday evening, The Center Pompidou art museum complex. Just a standard bag search at the main entrance. It should be noted that if you doing 30 Days In Paris it is likely that you will be here for the first Sunday of month. Several museums are open to the public for free on this day. We went to the Pompidou. More on Paris museums later in our trip.

We also visited a non target the Sunday pet bird market at the Cite’ Metro stop near Mt. Michel / Notre Dame.
